Serie A giants snap up La Liga-winning Chelsea and Man United target

Miranda

According to reports from The Express this afternoon, Inter Milan have agreed a fee for Atletico Madrid centre-back Miranda.

The 30 year-old has been a vital component in a Mattress Makers outfit that’s claimed a Europa League title, a Copa del Rey and a La Liga title since his arrival from Sao Paulo in summer 2011.

But he’s struggled for game-time this season due to the emergence of prodigious Uruguayan Jose Gimenez, managing only 23 starts in La Liga, and with just one year remaining on the Brazil international’s contract rumours of a summer departure have circulated for some time.

As This Is Futbol revealed in April, Chelsea, Juventus and Manchester United have all been linked with the 6 foot 1 defender as they search for experienced additions to their respective backlines.

But according to reports from The Express, who cite beIN Sports correspondent Tancredi Palmeri, Inter Milan have emerged as shock suitors with a €12.5million bid – which Atletico are believed to have accepted.
