According to reports from Mirror Football yesterday evening, Chelsea are preparing a £15million bid for Augsburg defender Abdul Rahman Baba.
The 20 year-old has emerged as one of the most promising talents in the Bundesliga this season, bagging four assists in 31 appearances whilst averaging the second-most tackles, 3.5, of any player in the division – after HSV enforcer Valon Behrami.
That proved a pivotal influence in Augsburg claiming a fifth-place finish in the German top flight, ensuring the first ever European qualification in the club’s history.
It’s also generated plenty of interest in the Ghana international, who has already claimed eleven caps and represented his country at the 2015 African Cup of Nations. As This Is Futbol revealed in May, Manchester City, Manchester United and La Liga giants Real Madrid have all been linked with summer bids.
But according to Mirror Football, Chelsea are proving the most proactive in their pursuit of Abdul Rahman Baba, with a £15million bid in the pipeline as Brazil international Filipe Luis, who recently admitted he could leave Stamford Bridge this summer, edges closer towards the exit door.
However, the British tabloid claim Baba wants assurances over his playing time. He’s keen to become a Chelsea legend like compatriot Michael Essien, rather than spend his Blues career farmed out across Europe like close friend Christian Atsu.
I don-t know what is wrong with managers, morinho should rather build his attacking line with promising attackers, nothing is wrong with d defense line, i think Falcao is not a better signing at all, he is old and disinformed, while Costa is vulnerable to injuries, he should go for the likes of Podga, suarez etc.
