According to reports from The Metro yesterday evening, Manchester City are considering a £6million summer swoop for Augsburg defender Abdul Rahman Baba.
The 20 year-old has been in fantastic form to claim four assists in 28 Bundesliga appearances from left-back this season, whilst averaging an impressive 3.7 tackles, 2.8 interceptions and 1.6 successful dribbles per match. In fact, only Hamburg’s Valon Behrami has made more tackles in the German top flight than the Ghana international this term.
That’s attracted interest from the Citizens, who are in need of some fresh blood at No.3, with Gael Clichy and Aleksander Kolorov both now 29 years of age.
According to The Metro, scout Gary Worthington is pushing for a summer bid, likely around the £6million mark.
But the Etihad outfit aren’t the only top European club to have noticed the 5 foot 11 defender’s phenomenal progress this season; last month, The Express revealed Chelsea, Manchester United and Real Madrid to all be considering moves for Abdul Rahman Baba.
