The Oscar-Ramires-Pogba switcheroo

According to reports from talkSPORT this morning, Juventus director general Bebbi Marotta has denied the club will cash-in on star midfielder Paul Pogba this summer.

The France international is amongst the hottest properties in European football at the minute, due to his eclectic mix of technical quality, formidable physicality and netting prowess, and he’s widely expected to leave Turin this summer after claiming a third consecutive Serie A title with the Old Lady.

As This Is Futbol revealed last month, Chelsea and former club Manchester United are both believed to be eyeing summer deals for the 22 year-old, whilst Ligue 1 champions PSG have reportedly put a £60million offer on the table already.

But Bebbi Marotta has now denied such claims, instead insisting Juventus have ‘no plans’ to cash in on the central midfielder this summer. Talking to Italian radio station Radio Rai, he said; “Right now all of the club wants to enjoy the Scudetto and we’re not thinking about the future.

“Pogba is a superb champion, the best young player around and he has the attention of the top clubs. But we’re not used to selling.

“Right now there are no grounds to put Pogba on sale. We have an economic balance and our power is not comparable to that of other clubs, but Pogba has shown no intention of departing,” he added.

Whether Marotta’s words are genuine or more an effort to further raise Pogba’s price-tag remains to be seen.
