According to reports from The Metro this morning, Chelsea will offer Lyon £15million and Loic Remy in exchange for star striker Alexandre Lacazette.
The 23 year-old has been in sensational form to net 26 goals in 30 Ligue 1 appearances this season – a league return only bettered throughout Europe’s five leading top flights by Ballon d’Or duo Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
Arsenal and Liverpool have been more commonly linked with the winger-come-striker over the last few months; earlier this week, for example, The Express claimed both clubs would pay up to £35million for his services this summer.
But Premier League leaders Chelsea have now entered the race with a more unorthodox proposition. They’ll offer £15million and front-man Loic Remy in exchange for Lacazette, who received his senior debut at Lyon after joining the club’s academy in 1999.
The 28 year-old has performed well when called upon this season, netting seven times in 27 appearances – including five goals in the Premier League. But he’s grown tired with his secondary role to Diego Costa, and could decide to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.
Earlier this week, however, Lacazette claimed he plans to stay on at Stade de Gerland for at least another year – as reported by The Express.
