Striker - Edinson Cavani

According to reports from The Daily Star this morning, PSG striker Edinson Cavani has admitted he could be on his way to the Premier League this summer.

Despite boasting 50 goals in 91 appearances for the French champions – including 25 strikes in all competitions this season – the Uruguay international’s future has been shrouded in doubt over the last few weeks.

His agent refused to rule out a summer move to the Premier League or Serie A after Cavani’s touchline bust up with manager Laurent Blanc  – as This Is Futbol revealed last month – and according to the tabloids, he’s since handed in a transfer request at Parc de Princes – as This Is Futbol reported earlier this week.

The former Napoli striker, who netted 104 times in 138 appearances for the Italian outfit, has now admitted his future could lay elsewhere in a candid interview with GQ.

As quoted by The Daily Star, the 28 year-old said; “I don’t know whether I will stay at PSG. I might stay, I might leave… You never know what will happen in football.”

“When I arrived at PSG, I was forced to play on the wing,” he added. “People don’t understand how much that has influenced my performances. I would score a lot more if I was played as a striker. I want to play as a striker. I would without a doubt do much better in my own position.”
