Edinson Cavani

According to reports from The Metro this morning, potential suitors for Edinson Cavani have received a timely boost following news of a bust-up with PSG manager Laurent Blanc.

The Ligue 1 champions have consistently denied rumours that the Uruguay striker would be sold this summer, but events last night could force a change in policy.

Cavani found himself fielded out wide against Marseille yesterday evening, a regular occurrence throughout his Parc de Princes career in order to make room for the enigmatic Zlatan Ibrahimovic up top, and reacted angrily when subbed off after an hour. His frustrated debate with Blanc was caught on camera.

Adding further fuel to his slowly burning transfer fire, the 28 year-old, who boasts 43 goals in 82 appearances for the French capital outfit, refused to rule out a summer move when quizzed on the issue following the 3-2 victory over Marseille – as reported by talkSPORT.

“For now I think only to finish the season well here and give my best for the club that pays me. In Paris, I’m fine, but in football you never know what can happen in the future,” he said.

Cavani has been linked to both Arsenal and Manchester United in recent months, as reported by The Express in March, and last night’s antics could trigger the £55million-rated striker’s anticipated move to the Premier League.
