According to reports from The Express this morning, Manchester United are planning to loan out Belgian wonderkid Adnan Januzaj to Everton next season.
The 20 year-old winger burst onto the Premier League scene last season with a stunning brace against Sunderland in October – which soon prompted a new five-year contract and a nomination for BBC’s Young Sports Personality of the Year award.
He was one of the only success stories during David Moyes’ short-lived tenure as Old Trafford boss, but that’s been strongly juxtaposed by a surprisingly anonymous 2014/15 campaign under Louis van Gaal.
Despite the Dutchman’s track record of breaking through young talent – his list of debutants including Andres Iniesta, Toni Kroos, Clarence Seedorf and Thomas Muller, to name a few – Januzaj is yet to record a goal or assist in the Premier League this term, from seven starts and ten substitute appearances.
Resultantly, The Express claim the five-cap Belgium international will be loaned out to Everton next season – who used loan signings Romelu Lukaku, Gareth Barry and Gerard Deulofeu to inspire a fifth-place finis last term – but will eventually sell the struggling youngster to known suitors PSG.
They were courting Januzaj before he extended his Old Trafford contract and still want to take him off United’s hands.
