Man United lining up audacious £105m triple swoop

According to reports from The Metro this morning, Manchester United are planning a sensational £105million triple swoop in the coming transfer window for Liverpool’s Raheem Sterling, PSV’s Memphis Depay and Borussia Dortmund’s Mats Hummels.

This Is Futbol informed you of the Red Devils’ interest in the former last week. It stems from the England international turning down several lucrative contract offers – some reaching well over £100k per-week – to extend his current Anfield deal past 2017. If United signed him this summer, however, they’d have to fork of £50million – and Sterling would become the first player to move directly between the northwest rivals since Phil Chisnall in 1964.

This is Futbol also reported on Depay’s rumoured summer move to Old Trafford last week. Having scored 23 goals in 33 appearances since his impressive World Cup campaign, including 17 in the Eredivisie, manager Phillip Cocu has admitted the 21 year-old winger ‘will leave’ PSV this summer. The Metro claim he’d cost United around £20million – but Liverpool are also keen admirers.

And finally, Mats Hummels – probably the player Man United have been linked with most over the last few years, and particularly since Louis van Gaal’s appointment at the start of the campaign. He’s the world-class stopper the Carrington club desperately need and could leave Westfalen this summer as the Black-Yellows have all-but-mathematically failed to qualify for next term’s Champions League. He’d cost £35m, claim the Metro.
