The Oscar-Ramires-Pogba switcheroo

As This Is Futbol informed you earlier this month, Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has emerged as a key target for Premier League table-toppers Chelsea, with some sources even claiming they’re prepared to swap two players – Brazil duo Oscar and Ramires – to sign the France international this summer.

But it’s another alleged swap deal that could scupper the Blues’ pursuit of the 22 year-old – that’s according to reports from ESPN.

They claim reigning Premier League champions Manchester City are now willing to exchange two of their leading stars for Paul Pogba this summer – striker Edin Dzeko and midfielder Samir Nasri.

As reported by us at This Is Futbol yesterday, Juve manager Massimo Allegri wants to sign a creative midfielder as Pogba’s replacement, capable of playing behind the Turin outfit’s customary two-man front line; Nasri would firmly fall into that category as a natural No.10.

They may also lose Carlos Tevez this summer, with his contract set to expire in 2016, and Dzeko, who boasts 71 goals in 180 appearances for the Citizens, could potentially fill his former team-mate’s void in Turin.

But with virtually every major club in Europe keen to sign Pogba this summer, ranging from Real Madrid to PSG, its unlikely Juve will accept an exchange over the vast fortunes they could command for the midfielder.
