Loic Remy (France):Whilst Arsenal fans are united in joy at seeing their club sign Alexis Sanchez, there still seems to be some debate as to where the Chilean ace will fit into their side.

He’s capable of playing as both a striker and a winger, so where does Arsene Wenger see him ending up?

Is he a replacement for Lukas Podolski (who tends to blow hot and cold), or is he competition for Olivier Giroud?

Whilst this question remains unanswered, The Gunners are likely to continue to pick up links to other talented strikers. Perhaps this is no bad thing. Arsenal were seriously short of options in this department last summer. Would you blame Arsene Wenger if he were to double down in the summer transfer market?

This brings me to The Mirror‘s claim that Arsene Wenger is also looking to add Loic Remy to his ‘revamped’ strike-force. With both Sanchez and Remy in tow, The Gunners won’t be lacking for pace next season.

Arsenal fans spent much of the previous 12 months moaning that their sole striking option, Olivier Giroud, was too slow. They complained that the Frenchman was incapable of taking players on, or stretching a defense. It looks as though Wenger has been listening.

The aforementioned source claims that Loic Remy would cost as little £8m. That’s a bargain fee for a player with a decent amount of Premier League experience and a good goal-scoring record.

Last season, whilst on loan with Newcastle United, Loic Remy found the back of the 14 times. Whilst he’s had his fair share of injury problems he does look ready for the big time. Given that he’s not going to break the bank, this does look like a no-brainer for The Gunners.

Arsene Wenger has done a great job of putting the Gunners in line for more silverware next season. Perhaps a signing like Loic Remy will help them to achieve that particular goal.

What’s your take? Should The Gunners still be chasing Loic Remy? Do they need to sign another centre-forward?
