Should Arsenal snap up these TWO strikers this January?

Michy BatshuayiArsenal have struggled through January, failing to get the results they need but still remaining towards the top of the Premier League table. Whilst they haven’t quite been able to shake off the ‘unable to beat a big club’ jinx, the fixture list should get slightly easier for them over the coming weeks.

But if the club really wants to make things a little easier for itself, they’ll get busy in the January transfer window. Arsene Wenger should make signing another striker his number one priority (in between games, of course).

Whilst Olivier Giroud started the season well, he’s began to go off the boil in recent weeks. Blame it on fatigue, or perhaps the tougher opposition he’s been playing against, but he’s struggled to find the back of the net and more often than not, his little flicks and tricks aren’t coming off. I can’t help but feel that he needs a break.

But should he be given a period to convalesce, who’s going to step up and take his place? Nicklas Bendtner? I don’t think so.

According to The Mirror, Arsene Wenger could sign two strikers this January. But before you get too excited, it looks as though he’s going to turn to youth (as he has done so many times before), rather than make a big money signing. This may be disappointing news for the fans, but these signings could still make a major impact at the club.

The players in question are Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata and Standard Liege’s highly-regarded Michy Batshuayi.

The Belgian, Batshuayi, is the real catch here. He’s only 20-years-old, but he’s already scored 14 goals in 27 games this season. He did pretty well last year as well, finding the back of the net 12 times. He’s certainly one to watch.

But Morata isn’t bad either. He’s only made sporadic appearances for the Real Madrid first team, but his goal-scoring record for the Reserves is fantastic (12 from 18 last season!). He’s got pace, he’s technically talented and he’s confident in front of goal. I’m not surprised that Arsene Wenger is interested.

It’s thought that Morata could arrive at the Emirates as part of a loan deal and that Batshuayi would set the club back approximately £8m. It strikes me that Arsenal are getting plenty of bang for their buck here. Let’s see if Arsene Wenger is ready to put these deals in place.

What’s your take? Are you excited to see Arsenal chase both Michy Batshuayi and Alvaro Morata?

I dont thinkt that Arsenal will be going for Michy. They will possibly look for a loan deal for Morata, and will recall their strikers on loan in Campbell and Welington in the summer. Campbell is having a good season at Olympiakos and is very similar to Michy and will young Afobe also in the mix, it is very unlikely that Arsenal will be signing any new young striker. But then again, Wenger has a penchant for young talent and nothing can be rules out.

Le Prof should go for the two strikers . Arsenal need both of them to relieve Olivier in some matches. No doubt Giroud is a class striker but lot of work since the pre season had had effect on his delivery . I will be very happy to the two young guys in Arsenal shirt come January. This is just to complement the effort of Olivier Giroud. This is so that Poldi and Theo can operate well from the wings. Up Gunners

Let not go for this guys the money can be better spend just one one striker like liewandolski
