KokeWith the January transfer window now upon us, it’ll be fascinating to see how Manchester United react. Will they spend big and bring in players who could turn around their season, or will they look for a bargain and hope for the best?

One thing’s for sure: Manchester United fans will be hoping that it’s the former, rather than the latter. After all, they’ve had to put up with a lot of dross thus far this season. David Moyes arrival at Old Trafford has caused all kinds of trouble. Tactically, The Red Devils seem to be getting outdone on a weekly basis.

But at least the issue behind this is clear: Manchester United just don’t have enough creativity in their midfield to undo tightly marshaled Premier League defenses. We’ve seen players like Antonio Valencia, Shinji Kagawa and Marouane Fellaini do their best this season, but they just don’t seem to provide the cut and thrust this team need.

Of course, the Papers are full of stories suggesting that big money signings are on the way. Take, for instance, The Mirror‘s claim that David Moyes is preparing to make a £30m bid for Spanish playmaker, Koke.

The 21-year-old is currently playing his football for Atletico Madrid, a club he’s helped guide to the top of the La Liga table this season. Alongside Diego Costa, Koke is Madrid’s best player. There’s sure to be a fair amount of speculation regarding him over the coming weeks.

It’s thought that David Moyes has made two ‘personal checks’ on the youngster and that he’s keen to snap him up as soon as possible. I can’t help but feel that this would be a very smart move on the part of the club – should it go ahead.

He’s young, but he may just be able to provide the spark of inspiration that Manchester United need. Just look at the way that another Spanish playmaker, Isco (previously of Malaga), has made his mark at Real Madrid. They may be young, but these Spanish stars sure are talented.

United would finally have somebody who they could rely upon to deliver that killer pass, to find gaps in between defenders and to make stuff happen. He could be a game winner.

All that remains to be seen is whether Manchester United are really willing to spend £30m. I’ll certainly have my fingers crossed.

What’s your take? Should Manchester United splash out on this talented individual?

Moyes will not buy him, all he knows are everton players..such a small minded coach…leighton baines and barkley all are over-hyped english players

If we bring on Koke and a world class left back and Moyes rejuvenates Kagawa, releases Anderson. Good winter bussiness
