So Nicklas Bendtner has said the media that he would favour a move to Tottenham Hotspur, if he has to leave Arsenal when he returns to London next summer. The Danish Striker, 24, is currently in Italy playing for Juventus – the Italian giants.

A step-up from Sunderland FC, Bendtner has found it difficult to mark his presence in Italy, still without a goal for the club. With reports saying that Arsenal will sell him when he returns, the striker is already eyeing up a move to the London rivals.

Speaking to bold.dk, the Danish newspaper, Nicklas said how emulating the likes of William Gallas and Emmanuel Adebayor isn’t a bad thing. But from Arsenal fans, how bad actually is this? Certainly there is space in the club for another striker, Olivier Giroud looking like he’s hitting some form at least, but with Marouane Chamakh struggling to find first team football and Theo Walcott still not playing down the middle, I think the need for another striker is definitely on the cards, I’m just not sure weather Nicklas Bendtner is out man.

To me, he hasn’t ever looked like a sharp, world class striker that we‘re looking for. Arsenal signed him in 2004 from FC Copenhagen, at the age of 16. Since then, he has always played second to other striker that Arsenal had. In his full first season at Arsenal, he was largely on the bench, behind Adebayor and Robin Van Persie. In his whole career at Arsenal, the player has only 22 goals in 99 appearances for the club.

Adebayor and Van Persie had both shown great talent whilst at the club, both players scoring some excellent goals. The motive for their moves were clear, with a desire to win silverware that they felt wasn’t being accomplished at Arsenal. Whilst Adebayor’s attitude towards Arsenal remains bitter, I think his decision to leave the club was inevitable, he has always had the greatest passion to play at the best level in professional football. Van Persie also, left to play for a club which challenges for the Premier League, and a lot more successful in European football. However, I think Bendtner’s desire to leave the club is a bitter one, he hasn’t proven himself to be a brilliant player, so I think his talk of joining Spurs is rather ambitious and arrogant.

I’m sure that I’m not the only Arsenal fan who feels this about Bendtner, I always hear people describe him as “cocky” “over-rated” “average at best” and I agree, it’s not hard to see why he hasn’t impressed in Italy, Juventus are a top team, and Bendtner simply isn’t good enough.

I hope we do sell Bendtner in the summer, but I doubt it’ll be to our London Rivals, as he isn’t the player to get Tottenham challenging for a place in the Champions League. He might be all talk, but the records show that there isn’t a place for Bendtner at Arsenal. It’s as simple as that.

Come on people, lets be serious. Nicklas Bendtner to Spurs is not going to happen. If he can’t perform at ANY of the clubs he has played for, why in earth would Spurs take him on? Those who you have mentioned in this article have been solid performers before they came to Spurs.

Nicklas Bendtner is a pompous arse who runs his mouth more than he runs on a pitch.
