Why giving Rangers’ 2005 League title to Celtic would be a travesty of justice:

Rangers are the world’s most successful club. If you don’t believe me, check out the Guinness Book of Records. They have won more trophies – 115 in total, including 54 national league titles – than any other club in the world. This has always stuck in our rivals throats and the attempt to strip Rangers of these titles is a cheap attempt to rewrite history. The basis for this is the use of the EBT tax scheme. Rangers have declared these payments to the SFA every year, yet all of a sudden it is being seen as a dual contract. But alas the Scottish game is never clear and simple and tribal loyalties run deep.

If Rangers were to be stripped of the 2005 league title who will it be given to? It will be given to Celtic; a team that at that time were operating the EBT tax scheme. How is this justice? Celtic has so far refused to confirm if the EBT used for the Brazilian Juninho was paid within one contract or as a dual.

Why is no one asking questions of Celtic? Celtic is now in control of the Scottish game and has no fear of retaliation for their use of the dual contracts if proved. Timing as they say is everything. What kind of message does this send out? It is either against the rules to use the EBT scheme or it is not. The fact that Celtic weren’t good enough to win the title in the season that they used the EBT funded Juninho is if anything proof that using EBTs does not give clubs a sporting advantage.

With the inquiry into Rangers use of EBTs about to begin this week most Rangers supports don’t hold out any hopes of getting a fair hearing. The SFA and SPL are corrupt and are smarting that Rangers exploits in the third division attract more television viewers and fans through the turnstiles than the tired and pointless SPL.

If punishment is to be dealt out then it must be dealt out fairly. Celtic fans for years claimed that the SFA was corrupt and biased in favour of Rangers, now it seems that nothing has changed, only that the rider has merely jumped horses and now favours Celtic.

Rangers WERE the most succesful team, now they are DEAD [LIQUIDATED GONE WHATEVER YOU WANT TO CALL IT] they cheated all other teams and titles should be taken back, they cant turn up for EBT hearing because they were 100 % guilty, Now the The Rangers tribute team has the chance to win a FIRST title, but will struggle after that . They were the peeple WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS Hail Hail

    Cyberted,
Im sure you mean well but really I think I can speak for the large majority of Celtic fans when I say that your boast of winning more titles means very little.

All we ever cared about is that we won the big cup. The only one that really matters most I think you will agree. Would you trade all your trophies, tainted or otherwise for our European cup win? Rangers FC 1873 are no no longer in existence due mainly to overambitious yearnings of the old RFCs board in trying to emulate by hook …or by crook? the real success story of Scottish football.

Congrats on being ‘the most successful club in the world’ seriously I mean it. However winning all those trophies in one of the poorest leagues in Europe does take a wee bit of gloss off the achievement dont you think?

Just as an aside, you WERE the most successful club in the world. Its important to stick to the facts.

  • Douglas says:

More from the “this is futbol(delete)rangers(insert) honestly why dont you change the name of this page or are you so embarassed about your third division liquidated status?….this mouthpiece for your rotten team is the only travesty here!

  • McAllister says:

Oh dear not again Cybertit. Allow to lance another of your pus filled boils. I have been busy at the travel agent organising my flights to Moscow, Lisbon and Barcelona. The most succesful team in Scotland? Errr The European Cup? Ask Andy Murray which trophy he treasures more, the US Open or the Stirling Juniors Tennis Gala. Rankers achievements are not acknowledged by anybody in the footballing world mate except yourselves. You are fooling yourself. Now grow up and book your travel for Annan Athletic :DDD

fpmsl Cybert!t…u’ve made ma day…another bear that knows hee haw about the facts of the matter and has the audacity to write articles trying to support ur excuse for a club.
“leave us alane….haven’t we been punished enough!?”
Ragers contractual deception has indirectly affected our business, success, develoment and general piss takin banter lol due to missin out on Europe.
Its about “sporting integrity” and sayin ” haven’t we been punished enough?” isn’t going to wash with the teams that missed out on financial rewards that European football brings, or and more importantly to UEFA/FIFA’s (so called) squeaky clean image (aye right), that they won’t tolerate such financial deception. Last but not least they will be monitoring SFA/SPL handling of the situation and like the Sion case can and will punish the SFA and scottish football in general if they’re not satisfied with the outcome. In other words, yeez are Fecked!! 😉 HH

    What a sad,desperate,individual.
I believe your monicker, cyberted. You really are “spaced” out.

  • Jmanbay says:

Ted Ted Ted…… Put the glue down & step away from the crayons. Let’s take your lies as “fact” shall we? If the use of an EBT were the simple crux of the matter & any game a player appeared in becomes invalided with a 3-0 reverse placed in it’s stead, I’ve reason to believe that season in question (2005), Aberdeen would of been champions. Now ask yourself this? Do you really think Celtic would have any issue whatsoever handing over this one tainted title to Aberdeen FC if it sets the precedent that decrees all titles involving EBTs are handed to the side finishing top out of the non EBT paying sides? Think about this the tiniest second….. Hand over one title to gain/wipe out the remainder of your ill gotten gains and have them retrospectively declared property of Glasgow Celtic FC. No brainer really but then since it’s your deluded wee self involved, no brainer is the order of the day. Personally? I’d rather the titles were all declared void, removed from the deceased club & recorded as “no award” in the history books for one simple reason: if they are handed to Glasgow Celtic, historians will wrote the books as if nothing is wrong. Ie: winner Glasgow Celtic, runner up Aberdeen and future generations will no nothing of this dead corrupt establishmentarian monster that kicked, spat & cheated it’s way to trophies it didn’t deserve. In the event of a no award, future generations the world over will ask: why was this? And the resounding answer will be there for all to see, the world’s “most successful club was no more than a ponzi scheme & a sham aided & abetted by corrupt lying match officials who are already documented in the anuls of history such as Mr MacDonald up at Tannadice & his FTP boss Mr Dallas. For me, that truth being known the world over is worth substantially more than ANY trophies, be it the 2005 title or others. Hope this clears things wee man. HH.

    • HoudiniBhoy says:

I am with you on awarding the league to NOBODY, if Rangers are found guilty. Have the record books indicate this liquidated club had their titles removed instead of giving them to Celtic therefore covering up the facts for future generations.

What is quite lamentable is that Rangers spent millions and millions over their turnover on winning a trophy that brought home a guaranteed prize of around £1M.

  • ConnorG says:

What a load of rubbish bla bla bla. Use cheated so use get punished its nothing to with Celtic, EBTs are legal if used properly, ur lot didn’t, #JellyAndIceCream

  • Martybhoy says:

Trying to justify cheating with your pathetic article.

  • JoeG says:

Well cyberted, it looks like evryone agrees with you eh?

  • Piaras says:

Come on, dont be turning this website into yet another website where Celtic and Rangers fans just take over all the posts to argue. As laughable as this article is, it shows that all articles relating to Celtic or Rangers should be checked before being posted.

  • Neverbeten says:

What a muppet you are pal. Seriously, leave the blogs alone and away and learn something useful.Honestly.
Incidentally, Juninho’s EBT was created by Middlesbro, inherited by Celtic and paid AND disclosed in full. Not last week, not last year but IMMEDIATELY.An EBT is NOT illegal whatsoever. Dual(that’s like TWO) and undisclosed ( that’s when you don’t tell folk about it) are.

  • Stefan says:

Nice to see my previous comment was deleted lol.

    Chris McLaughlin ?@BBCchrismclaug
#SPL have investigated claims that #Celtic may have had side contract with Juninho but say there is no case to answer.

It’s cold in the lowest tier of Scottish football – show some compassion to Cyber Ted – it’s pitiful 🙁

  • icecreamnjelly says:

Too funny, these guys are so ill informed its hilarious. Seriously the level of cluelessness among the gers fans over the past two years has been dumbfounding.
Remember to keep buying those season tickets too cos Mr Green is giving ally 200,000,00o to spend….even though there is a transfer ban and he’s in desperate need of cash to keep afloat even now…..this is not gloating or taking the piss cyberted…believe me your new club sevco could be looking at administration again.

Oh and once more….keep buying those season books….even though its cheaper to pay at the gate.

  • al says:

Sadly this appears to be your average Rangers fans grasp on the matter, and other matters, and that’s no grasp at all.

It’s utterly mind boggling that during the worst crisis in the clubs history almost none of them have the first idea of the facts involved.

You’d think the first thing fans would do would be to educate themselves on the minutia of the issues as the better informed they are the better decisions they can make.

Instead it appears the opposite is the case. At the first sight of perceived negative news, heads are buried firmly in the sand and are only removed when it’s to agree with fellow sand hatters.

Wise up ffs before Quick Buck Chuck and his crew take you for the second (or is it third) ride in the last decade.
