According to reports from The Express this morning, Arsenal are planning a £24million summer bid for Barcelona star and Manchester United target Pedro.

The 27 year-old has been part of the Nou Camp tapestry for some time. He’s claimed four La Liga titles, two Champions League titles and 97 goals in 310 appearances since his first team debut in 2008 – in addition to lifting the 2010 World Cup and the 2012 European Championship with the Spanish national team.

But the £75million arrival of Luis Suarez has seen the winger-forward’s game-time slashed. He’s made just 13 starts out of a possible 33 in La Liga this year, and only seven since the former Liverpool star’s debut in October.

With his Catalans contract also set to enter its final year, there’s plenty of Premier League interest in the Spain international. Mirror Football linked both Manchester United and Chelsea last month, but The Express now claim Arsenal are hoping to beat their divisional rivals with a £24million bid.

Unable to sign a replacement until January 2016, however, Barcelona’s transfer embargo could delay Pedro’s move for another six months.
