Carlos Bacca

According to reports from The Metro this morning, Manchester United will activate the release clause of Sevilla striker Carlos Bacca this summer in a bid to bolster their forward cast.

The Colombian international has been in sensational form since arriving at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan from Club Brugge two summers ago.

Last season, the dynamic forward’s 21 goals in all competitions fired Sevilla to a Europa League title, but he’s already matched that total this year in just 43 appearances.

Quick, strong and unorthodox in style, the 28 year-old seems a good fit for the Premier League, which is why some of it’s top clubs – namely Arsenal, Liverpool and United – have registered an interest in Bacca, as reported by The Express earlier this week.

But The Metro now claim the Red Devils will seek to outmaneuver their divisional rivals by activating the Sevilla star’s £21.3million release clause.

As quoted by The Express, Bacca has recently admitted he could leave the Europa League champions this summer, telling reporters; “I am feeling very well here and I am not thinking about a transfer. Things are going well for me and for the team. Then again, if Sevilla need to sell me or decide to cash in, we will sit down to discuss matters and evaluate any offers.”
