Could QPR’s loss be other club’s gain in the transfer market?

|

His pace and dribbling alone have shown that he has the pedigree to play in the top flight, despite struggling for games and a dip in form over the last few months. At just 22, his next move could be crucial, as Hoilett will be hoping he can fulfill the potential that he showed earlier in his career, which Premier League side will snap him up?

As already suggested, Julio Cesar is one recent recruit who will have been particularly disheartened by QPR’s results this season, and will surely be looking for an exit. Amidst his side’s inept performances, the Brazilian international has been kept extremely busy between the posts and is one of few player’s whose reputation has not been tarnished by the hoops’ demise.

As a result, there are a number of European clubs currently linked with his signature including AC Milan, Arsenal and Liverpool. One thing is for sure, whoever ends up recruiting Cesar will have a world class shot-stopper at their disposal.

Adel Taarabt is another of QPR’s stars who may look for greener pastures during the summer transfer window. The 23 year old has shown glimpses of brilliance during his time at Loftus Road, and was highly sought after in the last transfer window.

The London-based club however, have already expressed their intent to keep Taarabt, as they hope he will lead their quest for promotion from the Championship for a second time. Inevitably there will be interest from a number of European clubs, but with a £15 million price-tag coupled with concerns over his inconsistency and general fitness, the Moroccan may still turn out for Ranger’s come the start of the new season.

Other players that are unlikely to want to spend a season out of the top-flight include ex-Real Madrid midfielder, Esteban Granero, record-signing and wage-guzzling Christopher Samba, Stephane Mbia and Samba Diakite, to name but a few.

It remains to be seen exactly who QPR manage to keep hold of during the summer, and indeed, who they will bring in, but I think we should expect to see a number of their current crop still plying their trade in the Premier League next season.

As for the hoops’, if they are to secure a speedy return to the top flight, they require a vast change in mindset, and fast.

Personally, I can see no alternative remedy than for all employees of the club to gather in a multi-million pound, home-cinema in Tony Fernandes’ outhouse, and be forced to watch a montage of their demise played to the soundtrack of Michael Jackson’s ‘Earth Song’, on repeat until even Jose Bosingwa begins to leak tears from somewhere beneath that thunderbird monobrow.

…But that’s just me.
