Tottenham Hotspur have identified Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford as their ideal replacement for Hugo Lloris.
This and the fact that Lloris’ contract at Spurs is set to expire in 2024 has led to the north London club looking for potential replacements for him, with one candidate already in sight.
According to a recent report from the Daily Mirror, Spurs are eyeing a move for the Toffees shot-stopper as they believe recent issues surrounding his contract at Everton could tempt him to leave Goodison Park and make the move to north London.
His overall performances for the Toffees this season have earned the Englishman a season rating of 6.86/10 from WhoScored, making him the third-highest rated player at Everton.
Would Jordan Pickford be a good replacement for Lloris?
To compare that with Lloris, his efforts in this campaign have earned him a season rating of 6.69/10 from WhoScored, putting him as Spurs’ 10th highest rated player.
While Everton have had a tough campaign, it’s safe to say that it could have been a lot worse without Pickford in net.
However, he has had his bad days as he was given just a 5/10 against Spurs last season as the Lilywhites won 5-0, as well as being called a ‘liability’ by Jamie Carragher.
