Tottenham Hotspur have identified Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford as their ideal replacement for Hugo Lloris.

The Frenchman has made three errors that have led to an opponent having a shot at Spurs’ goal, leaving only William Saliba (4) with more in the Premier League this season.

This and the fact that Lloris’ contract at Spurs is set to expire in 2024 has led to the north London club looking for potential replacements for him, with one candidate already in sight.

According to a recent report from the Daily Mirror, Spurs are eyeing a move for the Toffees shot-stopper as they believe recent issues surrounding his contract at Everton could tempt him to leave Goodison Park and make the move to north London.

Even though the £100k-per-week ace has conceded 24 goals in 17 league appearances this season, the England international has still shown how much of a capable goalkeeper he is.

Tottenham Hotspur fans, who were these players sold to? Starting with an easy one: Gareth Bale

For example, with 92 shots on target faced, Pickford has saved 68 of them, leaving him with the fourth-highest save percentage in the league (76.1%).

His overall performances for the Toffees this season have earned the Englishman a season rating of 6.86/10 from WhoScored, making him the third-highest rated player at Everton.

Would Jordan Pickford be a good replacement for Lloris?

To compare that with Lloris, his efforts in this campaign have earned him a season rating of 6.69/10 from WhoScored, putting him as Spurs’ 10th highest rated player.

While Everton have had a tough campaign, it’s safe to say that it could have been a lot worse without Pickford in net.

However, he has had his bad days as he was given just a 5/10 against Spurs last season as the Lilywhites won 5-0, as well as being called a ‘liability’ by Jamie Carragher.
