Newcastle United have been ruled out of the potential race to sign Jude Bellingham in the summer by Simon Jordan.

The TalkSport pundit had been speaking about the young Englishman live on-air with a host of clubs believed to be looking to snap him up in the summer transfer window.

Real Madrid, Manchester City and Liverpool have all been linked with strong interest in the 19-year-old despite still having over two years remaining on his deal in Germany with Borussia Dortmund.

Which of these United States stars has been linked with the Toon recently?

Newcastle are looking to bridge the gap to the biggest clubs in Europe and have certainly made a promising start this campaign as they sit third in the Premier League table.

However, Jordan does not believe Newcastle would necessarily appeal to the young midfielder who will likely have the final product available to him in teams like Madrid and Manchester City:

(1:50) “Jude Bellingham has an embarrassment of riches, he hasn’t got to go into somewhere that’s going to pour money into get somewhere that he can go to somewhere that’s already done all that and walk straight into a site that’s capable of winning the league.

“Now you’re [Jim White] gonna say, well, who says Newcastle are not capable when the league? I think time will tell that at this moment in time. They’re not at that level.”

TIF Thoughts on Jordan’s comments…

Unfortunately for Newcastle fans, we have to agree with Jordan on this one with the young prospect clearly attracting the interest of the biggest clubs in the world.

Is Bellingham a stretch too far for NUFC?

Yes

Yes

No

No

That’s not to say Newcastle are not an attractive club for players at the moment as they have been able to attract players such as Bruno Guimaraes and Sven Botman.

But Bellingham does feel as if he may be slightly out of reach with the youngster shining on the World Cup stage now, as well as in the Bundesliga and Champions League with Dortmund.

Jordan has certainly been wrong about the Magpies in the past and Toon fans will be hoping this is the case again, but we are not too convinced it will be the case.
