Image for Celtic: Presenter delivers assessment on ‘cocky’ Haksabanovic

Presenter Hamish Carton has labelled Sead Haksabanovic as ‘cocky’ after seeing the latest training video to come out of Celtic.

In the video, Haksabanovic does a backwards peace sign and is then told by assistant manager Harry Kewell to watch out for the ice on the ground. Following that, the Montenegro international then proceeds to do a little dance on the ice.

Other players spotted in the video include recent arrivals Yuki Kobayashi and Alistair Johnston.

And speaking on the 67 Hail Hail YouTube channel, Carton admitted that if he wasn’t a Celtic player, he would’ve liked to have seen Haksabanovic fall over on the ice.

He stated: “The video peaked after about 25-30 seconds when Sead Haksabanovic came out, saw the camera did this [does a backwards peace sign] for some reason, whatever that means, and was then told, I think twice, by Harry Kewell to be careful because there was a wee slippy-looking bit of ice on the ground.

“He then proceeded to kind of go over that bit of ice and do a wee daft dance, while playing up for the camera. I would say that if he wasn’t a Celtic player and I wasn’t concerned about injuries and a key part of the pitch, I would say that he probably deserved to slip on that bit of ice, maybe even hurt himself a little bit, given that he was just so cocky about the whole thing.”

TIF Thoughts on Carton’s comments…

We believe that the comments made by the presenter were all in good fun. He would actually go on to say straight after that it was probably because he fell over in Glasgow city centre on some ice very recently.

Last summer, the 23-year-old joined Celtic from Rubin Kazan on a five-year deal.

In 2017, he made his debut for the Montenegro national team and has amassed a total of 30 caps for his nation.  However, before that, he actually played for Sweden at youth level.

The winger has endured a pretty decent start to the season for the Hoops. Haksabanovic has four goal contributions from nine Scottish Premiership matches.

In addition, he’s a very efficient distributor of the ball, as he has an 88% passing accuracy in the league and has created four big chances for Celtic.

If Haksabanovic can show some of that cockiness and flair on the pitch, Carton certainly won’t be complaining by any means.
