Presenter Joe Wainman has encouraged Leeds United to get ‘all over’ a deal for Yunus Musah.

While Leeds were last heavily linked with the youngster back in 2020, The Athletic has recently claimed that offers over €20m (£17.2m) could be entertained this winter.

Musah has become a regular in the Valencia side in recent seasons and has drawn the attention of Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Everton and Wolves.

Formerly of the Gunners academy, the 20-year-old, who has a release clause of €100m (£86m), started all four of the United States’ matches at the World Cup and has been described as having an ‘elite engine’ by noted scout Jacek Kulig.

And despite Leeds not being seen as a frontrunner for his signature at present, speaking on the JustJoe Football Show, Wainman has urged Victor Orta to pull off a move for another American at Elland Road.

He said: “Looking at his market value, around about £20m, and due to the fact that Valencia are actually open to selling him, I think it’s one Leeds United 100% have to be all over.

“You get an injury to [Tyler] Adams or a [Marc] Roca, we’re in a really poor situation.

“But if you can go out and get someone who’s had an excellent World Cup for around about £20m and the club itself is willing to do business, then for me, it’s a no-brainer.”

TIF Thoughts on Musah and Leeds…

Do you think Leeds can get Musah?

Yes!

Yes!

No chance!

No chance!

As much as we would echo what Wainman has said, we still have doubts over how realistic a transfer to West Yorkshire could be.

Marsch, of course, is a compatriot of Musah’s, but he has never worked with the player, while the firm interest from some of the bigger Premier League clubs could derail any sort of move from Leeds.

Mateusz Klich could be on his way out of the club, and with only Darko Gyabi and Adam Forshaw in reserve to replace the likes of Tyler Adams and Marc Roca in the side, the Elland Road outfit will need investment in the middle of the field in January.

However, it remains to be seen if they can fend off the competition for Musah’s signature.
