Manchester United are now in advanced negotiations with Alejandro Garnacho over potentially extending his stay at Old Trafford.
This is according to the reliable transfer guru who has been speaking on his latest Here We Go podcast to discuss the future of the Argentine winger.
The 18-year-old has burst onto the scene at Old Trafford this season having made just three appearances in the Premier League but has managed to find the back of the net with the winner against Fulham.
And the young winger put his stamp on the Europa League after scoring the goal to seal United’s spot at the top of their group having beat Real Sociedad in the final game of the group stages.
With a bright start made in his career at Old Trafford, Romano now believes Erik ten Hag is looking to tie Garnacho down to a longer future at the Theatre of Dreams:
(5:00) “Alejandro Garnacho, negotiations very advanced on new deal. It’s something that Man United already wanted to do in the summer at the end of June when there was no full agreement between all parties, so they decided to wait a bit.
“Now Garnacho is doing great. He’s considered a top talent. And so Man United made their contract proposal to Garnacho. Negotiations are ongoing but progressing very well. New five-year deal for Garnacho, important salary as a first-team player.”

It is not surprising to hear of United’s eagerness to secure Garnacho’s future at Old Trafford considering his electric start to life playing for the senior side.

However, perhaps more importantly, the 18-year-old is now playing into the final months of his contract which is set to expire at the end of the season.
And regardless of whether he becomes the next big thing at United, after the start he has made, the Red Devils simply cannot take the risk of some other club snapping up what seems to be a huge talent.
