Former Rangers boss, Mark Warburton has stated on Sky Sports, that Michael Beale will find it ‘very hard to turn down’ the opportunity to manage the club.

Sky Sports stated recently that the Scottish Premiership side are set to approach Queens Park Rangers to get permission for Beale’s services.

This was after they club sacked former boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst. It had been a poor 2022/23 campaign for Rangers, they’re in second in the league, but they’re nine points behind Celtic.

In addition, they endured a really shocking affair in the Champions League. They lost all six of their matches, including a 7-1 defeat at the hands of Liverpool. This saw them finish bottom of Group A.

When discussing the potential appointment of former Gers assistant manager, Warburton believes he’s someone who understands what Rangers are all about.

He stated, “I think Michael’s well aware of the size of rangers Football Club it’s a global institution recognized around the world, the history of the club, so it’s a fantastic opportunity and Michael will know that. But as far as I understand it as nothing official is going to do yet so he’ll recognise the club in a very good relationships within the club establishments working with Steven. So should it come along it will be a fantastic opportunity, and I’m sure very hard to turn down.”

TIF’s view on Warburton’s comments…

We believe that whilst Beale has experience at Rangers, they shouldn’t pursue him. He’s recently hit a bad run of form at QPR.

The Championship side haven’t only won any their last five league matches. This has seen them slip down the table into seventh place.

Adding to that, if Beale were to take on the Rangers job, there would be a sour atmosphere around from many football fans. It suggests he’s willing to jump ship at the chance of another job where he’ll manage a better side.

This could mean Beale may do the exact same to Rangers in the future, should a Premier League side for example, coming knocking. As the old saying goes, those who don’t learn from history, are doomed to repeat it.
