Sky Sports pundit Kevin Campbell has claimed that one man in particular shouldn’t look to rejoin Glasgow Rangers as manager given his lack of experience.

Formerly an assistant to Steven Gerrard during the Englishman’s spell in charge at Ibrox, Beale has started his first managerial job in superb style, impressing with QPR as he leads them on a promotion push.

He even attracted interest from Wolves within months of his tenure but rejected the Premier League offer to remain at Loftus Road.

However, he is reportedly close to returning to Glasgow just a month after he emphasised his commitment to the Hoops, but this has caused a mixed reaction at Rangers.

Speaking to Football Insider, Campbell suggested the extra pressure of being Rangers manager may be too much for someone who has only managed for a short while.

“It’s difficult to know if Beale is the best man for the job,” Campbell claimed.

“He’s had success at Rangers before, yes – but only as a coach.

“I think he’s learning on the job right now, doing well at QPR – but Rangers is a completely different animal. It’s a massive club.

“He had overtures from the Premier League, from Wolves, and he turned it down.

“I can’t see him taking this job. He’s got a good project going at QPR and the pressure is slightly less than it would be at Ibrox.

TIF thoughts on Beale and Rangers…

We disagree that a lack of experience would hurt Beale’s chances at Rangers, given that he actually has more experience coaching at a high level than Gerrard when he took the job in 2018.

Beale has shown his tactical nous and ability to coach a team in a short time at QPR, and given his previous experience as an assistant, it will not take him long to implement his style if he returns to Rangers.

With the Rangers squad in need of an elite tactical mind to lead them, should he choose to abandon his project at QPR, the Rangers job could be ideal for Beale to showcase why he deserves an opportunity to lead such a big club as the head coach.
