Presenter ExWHUemployee has claimed that West Ham United are not planning on selling this winter Declan Rice despite recent talk of his expected departure.

While the World Cup will keep most focused on the action on the pitch, transfer rumours will continue to grow with the January window fast approaching on the horizon.

The big story coming out of West Ham of late is the claim that Rice could well be on the move in the near future with his current deal set to expire in 2024

While speaking about that possibility on The West Ham Way podcast, Ex stated that the club will hope to sign him to a new deal, though if they can’t they will have to sell him in the summer – but won’t let him go this winter.

He explained (3:15): “Now we’re not going to sell him in January. That’s not the plan. Unless obviously, a ridiculous bid comes in for him.

“The plan, it’s not even to sell him in the summer, the plan is to try and get him to sign a new deal, which I don’t think is going to happen at this point.

“But if it did, then we wouldn’t have this issue. If it doesn’t happen, and he doesn’t sign a new deal, then we have to sell him, it’s simple. Because he’s worth 100, 150 million, you can’t let it go.”
