Former Tottenham Hotspur no.1 Paul Robinson believes the club should think about signing Denzel Dumfries.
Emerson Royal has for the most part held down that right wing-back berth at Spurs this season.
He has started 11 Premier League games but according to reports out of Italy the Lilywhites are willing to replace him.
Calciomercato claim that the north Londoners are interested in signing the 26-year-old who moved to Inter Milan in the summer of 2021 off the back of coming to the fore in that summer’s European Championships with Netherlands.
He scored two goals and created another and the source suggests that Tottenham would even be willing to include Royal as part of the deal.
Antonio Conte also has Matt Doherty and Djed Spence to select at right-back but Robinson, sometimes seen on Sky Sports, has urged them to bring in the marauding defender.
He told Football Insider: “Dumfries is a top player.
“After the Euros, I was adamant he would be coming to the Premier League. He was heavily linked with Everton at the time. I have to say I was very surprised that he did not come to the Premier League after that tournament.
“I have watched him very closely. He is brilliant.
“He is athletic and has great ability going forward but he can also defend.
“The way Conte wants to play, he would be perfect. I would love to see him at Tottenham.”
