Journalist Charles Watts has said that Arsenal will be receiving a ‘huge’ boost as Emile Smith Rowe is set to be involved in their warm-weather training camp in Dubai.

The talented youngster hasn’t featured for the Gunners since 4th September, playing only 47 minutes across four appearances.

He pulled up during the side’s warm-down following their defeat to Manchester United and had to undergo surgery on his groin.

However, it appears that the 22-year-old is now over the worst of his troubles and is working his way back to fitness.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Watts said: “He is going to be going over to Dubai for the warm-weather training camp. Whether he actually takes full part in that, I imagine probably not, but we’ll have to wait and see if that’s where he is in his recovery process.

“But just the fact he’s going to be over there, I think it’s going to be a good thing because he’s got a huge part to play in the second half of this season, Emile Smith Rowe, when he is back and fit – Arsenal have missed him massively this season.

“Fingers crossed, everything goes well now that we’ve got through the worst bit of the recovery from the operation, now it’s about stepping up his fitness, getting him back playing, getting him out on the pitch. That is going to happen fairly soon now.”

Last season, the three-cap England ace emerged as a key player in Mikel Arteta’s side.

He started 21 times in the Premier League, scoring 10 goals and providing a further two assists.

Only Bukayo Saka (11) netted more times than the Hale End product as he gained his first senior international call-up thanks to his fine form.

While not much has gone wrong for the Gunners this term, having Smith Rowe come on for the likes of Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Martinelli or Saka would certainly be a fantastic option for Arteta to have, and fans will be hoping he is back sooner rather than later.
