Barcelona and Real Madrid are in a battle to sign Borussia Dortmund forward Youssoufa Moukoko, according to SPORT.

Bundesliga.com describes the striker as having ‘incredible goalscoring prowess’, when he played for St Pauli Youth. In July 2016, he would then move to Dortmund’s youth side.

In addition, what makes Moukoko such a wanted man is remarkable stats this season. In the 2022/23 campaign, the forward has 10 goal contributions from 14 Bundesliga games for Dortmund.

Furthermore, he’s only 18-years-old, which means he could be a real future prospect.

According to another report, Memphis Depay wants to leave Barcelona. So perhaps they’ll turn to Moukoko as his replacement.

However with rivals Real Madrid interested in the Dortmund man, they’ll face competition. In addition, Los Blancos have a strong track record of producing talented young stars, which could attract Moukoko.

TIF’s view on Barcelona’s pursuit of Moukoko…

We believe that Moukoko, who has been hailed as a ‘crazy’ player, would be a great long-term signing for Barcelona. At 18-years-old, he could well be a mainstay at the La Liga club for a long time.

Furthermore, the forward would be a fitting replacement for Memphis Depay. Robert Lewandowski and the Dutchman are the only centre-forwards at Barca’s disposal.

There’s no doubt Barcelona are one of the biggest clubs in the world, their accomplishments speak for themselves. Moukoko could well be the future of the Spanish side, if his stats this season are anything to go by.

Should he continue at that trajectory, the forward could lift a number of trophies with Barca. The club could add to their 5 Champions League trophies, with Moukoko leading the line.
