Tottenham Hotspur defender Cristian Romero may have now provided a huge hint of his fitness ahead of their Champions League clash on Wednesday night.
Antonio Conte’s side face their final home game of the Champions League group stage as Sporting CP travel to north London following their 2-0 win over Spurs last month.
The Italian may face a selection headache with a number of key figures believed to be injury doubts for the game against the Portuguese side – Romero being one.
The Argentine did not train with the squad on Tuesday having missed the defeat on Sunday against Newcastle United with a ‘minor injury‘.
However, Conte did suggest the centre-back would be a gameday decision and he has taken to Instagram to provide a potential hint towards his spot in the squad tonight with a pre-game video:

This will surely be a big boost for all at Spurs with Romero a key figure in the Spurs defence since arriving at the club last summer.

Romero was absent for the game on the weekend which saw Spurs beaten again and with the opportunity to secure their spot in the last 16 tonight, Conte will be hoping to have his strongest squad possible available.
And Romero certainly starts in Spurs’ strongest XI with the Argentine ranking in the 98th percentile for tackles made and the 95th percentile for blocks made (via Fbref).
Adding to the 24-year-old’s Instagram post, Argentine journalist Gaston Edul has reported the centre-back should be fine to play in the game tonight.
