Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch was pulled by Andrea Radrizzani on Sunday following their defeat at Elland Road.

This is according to the BBC reporter Adam Pope who has been speaking on the Don’t Go To Bed Just Yet podcast about the American’s future in Yorkshire after yet another defeat for the Whites.

It was another difficult weekend for the Whites after they tasted a 3-2 defeat at home to Fulham which has extended their run without a win to eight games.

After the game, Marsch spoke to the media claiming he had the full support from the Leeds owners despite their poor start to the 2022/23 campaign.

And speaking on the matter, Pope suggested Marsch was pulled by Radrizzani before his post-game press conference for a private conversation:

(8:00) “I’m sat in the media suite, we’re waiting and then we hear that Jesse’s done one interview and with the TV and then I’ve heard that he’s done the [BBC] Five Live interview.

“And then it becomes clear that I hear that Jesse has been spoken to by Andrea, that was the messages I was getting. And possibly by some of the 49ers too but certainly by Andrea.”

TIF Thoughts on Pope’s comments…

The job of a Premier League manager is a ruthless position which has proven to be the case in recent weeks with Steven Gerrard sacked and already replaced by Aston Villa.

Should Leeds give Marsch till the World Cup break?

Yes

Yes

No

No

And it feels as if this could well happen to Marsch soon if results do not improve ahead of the World Cup break given Marcelo Bielsa was sacked after a poor run of results.

Unfortunately for Marsch, Leeds’ next five fixtures include Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Newcastle United. So it is hard to imagine results will improve dramatically any time soon.

But with a big break coming up soon, we do wonder what that could mean for Marsch’s future.
