ExWHUemployee has revealed that West Ham United midfielder Lucas Paqueta may well be ‘risked’ in the club’s upcoming game and has been training this week.

Up to this point in the Premier League, the Hammers have been struggling to find any sort of consistent form. As a result, they currently sit just one place and two points above the bottom three.

In their next match, they will host Bournemouth at the London Stadium in desperate need of a home win, and so keen David Moyes is for the three points, it seems as though he may rush Paqueta back into the squad.

Indeed, it was reported late last week that the Brazilian was expected to be out for the next fortnight, but now it looks as if he could make an early return to the West Ham team.

Writing on The West Ham Way Patreon page, Ex said: “As we exclusively revealed on Patreon, Lucas Paqueta had a collarbone injury, but that he was only meant to be out for 2 weeks maximum and this has since been confirmed by the player.

“There is a chance he could be risked tonight, but the club want to monitor his injury carefully and a late decision will be made.”

TIF Thoughts on Lucas Paqueta and West Ham…

Following the initial two-week diagnosis, it certainly is good news that Paqueta looks capable of returning quicker than that. However, as Ex makes clear, they could well ‘monitor’ his recovery closely to avoid any further issues.

After all, seeing as he did cost West Ham a club-record £51m, it would be unwise to rush him back into action and then further aggravate his current problem.

It still feels as if the midfielder is yet to truly arrive in England having claimed just one league assist in six outings. Clearly, the 25-year-old is still finding his feet in his new surroundings, but if he is fit to feature against Bournemouth, tonight could be the night he truly explodes into life.
