Luke Ayling and Rodrigo were “having it out” on the pitch during Leeds United’s Premier League defeat this weekend.

That is according to LeedsLive reporter Beren Cross, who was reacting to the side’s disappointing defeat on Twitter.

Another winless game for Jesse Marsch’s side has seen the Whites slip into the Premier League relegation zone for the first time this season, having won just two games from a possible 11.

Following Aleksandar Mitrovic’s equaliser just before half-time, Ayling and Rodrigo began arguing with each other, with the pair frustrated with their roles in Fulham’s leveller.

Cross mentioned the incident on Twitter, as he shared his article on the things Leeds fans may have missed from the game.

“Ayling and Rodrigo were having it out on the pitch, the fans were having it out with Marsch in the stands,” tweeted Cross.

TIF Thoughts on Cross’ comments…

We think that Cross’ comments are concerning as it shows a potentially fractious relationship in the dressing room, and may have been an example of Ayling and Rodrigo lacking responsibility for a goal that both should have played a part in stopping.

The defeat now stretches Leeds’ Premier League winless run to eight games, with the side last tasting a top-flight victory in August’s 3-0 victory over Chelsea.

Therefore, we think the players need to sort their act out quickly and that serious conversations need to be had about the conduct of Ayling and Rodrigo following Fulham’s equaliser in order for Marsch to have a chance of keeping Leeds up for a second successive season.
