Jack Pitt-Brooke has joked about Djed Spence being a good player after his Tottenham Hotspur cameo appearance and amidst Antonio Conte’s earlier comments.

It has been a frustrating time of things for Spence since he joined Tottenham Hotspur over the summer from Middlesbrough having been left out of several matchday squads altogether and was labelled a ‘club signing‘ by Antonio Conte, suggesting he didn’t actually want the player.

During last night’s 2-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester United, Spence was afforded just one single minute to impress in a Spurs shirt, and despite that short amount of time, he appeared to indeed impress.

Spence appeared to certainly impress some people including Pitt-Brooke, who tweeted out a sarcastic message following Spence’s display.

Should Spence be starting for Spurs?

‘Djed Spence is good? Who knew!’

TIF Thoughts on Spence’s role at Spurs…

Despite having starred in the Championship last season with Nottingham Forest featuring 50 times and registering eight goal involvements as a wing-back, Conte simply doesn’t appear to trust him enough yet.

However, given that Spurs will be playing their third game in a week on Sunday vs Newcastle United before then playing in the Champions League next midweek, Spence could well be an option in either of those two games.

How well do you know where these Spurs signings came from? Take our quiz to find out! Firstly, where did Dimitar Berbatov arrive from?

Even if Spence wasn’t a signing Conte advocated, he’ll achieve nothing by just keeping him either out of the squad or out of the starting lineup because the only way he can learn what the manager’s tactics are like and what the Premier League requires from players, is by getting consistent minutes.
