Journalist Rob Guest has slammed Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Yves Bissouma after he ‘struggled’ in his club’s most recent game.

Despite falling two goals behind in their latest Premier League outing, Spurs managed to turn the game around a pick up the win away from home on Saturday.

Indeed, Kieffer Moore had scored twice to put Bournemouth in control but the Cherries let that slip as goals from Ryan Sessegnon, Ben Davies and Rodrigo Bentancur saw the away team win 3-2.

However, despite the victory, it’s probably fair to say not every Tottenham player was at their best. Indeed, in the player ratings for football.london opted to criticise Bissouma for his efforts.

The journalist gave the midfielder a 5/10 for his performance and wrote: “Was applauded by Antonio Conte after winning the ball on the edge of the box in the first half but his subsequent cross went out of play. Struggled again and didn’t take his rare opportunity in the side.”

TIF thoughts on Yves Bissouma and Spurs…

The player didn’t fair much better in Dan Kilpatrick’s player ratings for the Evening Standard either. The writer also gave Bissouma a 5/10 and noted that it was ‘another subdued and rusty display’ from the midfielder.

On SofaScore, the Spurs man picked up the lowest rating of all his teammates (6.3) and didn’t do well statistically either. He gave the ball away seven times, touched the ball just 44 times, won just one out of five duels, and failed with both of his single attempts to cross and to try and complete a dribble.

Luckily for Bissouma, his display wasn’t bad enough to cost his team any points. But seeing as he came off after 58 minutes – when his team was still losing – it’s hard to argue he had a positive impact on the game. Conte may well think twice before starting him next week.
