Journalist Beren Cross has slammed Leeds United youngster Crysencio Summerville for his underwhelming cameo in the club’s recent defeat.

On Sunday afternoon, the Whites travelled to Selhurst Park as they faced Crystal Palace away from home in a tightly contested Premier League fixture.

Despite taking the lead through Pascal Struijk, Jesse Marsch and co could not hang on to the result as the Eagles turned the game in their favour to win 2-1 thanks to goals from Odsonne Edouard and Eberechi Eze.

When the game was still level though, Leeds subbed Summerville on to help give them the edge but it seems as though his cameo did little to help.

Indeed, in the player ratings for LeedsLive, Cross was less than complimentary about the winger as he handed him a five out of ten for his efforts.

He wrote: “Crysencio Summerville (on for Bamford, 62min)

“Was barely noticed.”

TIF thoughts on Crysencio Summerville and Leeds…

The 20-year-old is yet to start in the Premier League this season for the Whites and so he would have been hoping to make a key impact in what was his fourth appearance from the bench (via Transfermarkt).

However, as is evidenced by Cross’ comments, he failed to do so. Indeed, in his 28 minutes of game time, he managed just 16 touches, completed only 60 per cent of his passes, gave away two fouls, had one blocked shot (with none on or off target), and managed zero dribbles (via SofaScore).

It’s safe to say he failed to change the game positively for Leeds. And, to make things worse, after he came on, Palace managed to grab a winner. All in all, not a good day for Summerville.
