Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher has slammed Andy Robertson after he kicked the ball into Leeds United player Brenden Aaronson.

During their most recent Premier League fixture, the Whites recorded the most remarkable win away from home as they took on Liverpool at Anfield.

Indeed, Leeds were gifted an early lead when Joe Gomez inadvertently passed the ball straight to Rodrigo, who couldn’t miss, but Mo Salah equalised before halftime.

Even so, the Reds could not push on to take the lead and just when the match looked destined to end all square, Crysencio Summerville popped up to steal a winner in the 89th minute.

It clearly wasn’t Liverpool’s day and Robertson personified this frustration when he duelled Aaronson for a ball and proceeded to kick it into his opponent’s stomach after the American fell to the ground.

TIF thoughts on the incident and Leeds…

Carragher condemned the incident on the Sky Sports coverage of the game, saying: “Robertson shouldn’t have done that, he kicked the ball at the player on the floor. He knows what he’s doing.”

And it seems as though Aaronson and his USMNT teammate Tyler Adams were pretty unhappy with it too as they confronted the Liverpool man, and Jurgen Klopp was then ‘forced to step in and pull the Scot away from trouble’.

In the end, referee Michael Oliver opted not to punish the heated moment with a yellow card. It was pretty unsporting from Robertson but the Leeds United players had the last laugh as they hoisted themselves out of the relegation zone, and just four points behind the Reds in the league with a shock win at Anfield.
