Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson has admitted he would be worried if he was a Crystal Palace fan due to the club’s poor away form.

The Eagles dropped to 13th in the Premier League table having suffered a 3-0 defeat at Goodison Park last Saturday.

The heavy loss to Everton came after a midweek win over Wolves at Selhurst Park and continued a worrying trend that is developing at Palace.

Palace are still awaiting their first victory on the road this campaign and Merson has expressed his concern when writing in his Sportskeeda column he said:

“I watched Crystal Palace at Everton last week, and I don’t see how they’re going to win an away game. They have a lot of flair players in the team, and that’s always nice to see. But if I was a fan, I’d be worried about their away form.”

TIF Thoughts on Merson’s comments…

Are you concerned by Palace's away form?

Yes.

Yes.

No!

No!

Each of the south-London club’s three victories this season have come on their own patch. They have taken ten points from a possible 18 losing only to Arsenal on the opening night and Chelsea in the dying embers.

That accounts for almost 77% of their current tally which must be a worry for Vieira.

Last term they averaged one point per match on their travels winning just four of their 19 fixtures and that has continued in this campaign.

Their struggles are perhaps epitomised by the fact that only one of Wilfried Zaha’s goals – in the draw at Anfield – having come away from Selhurst Park this season.

Only five teams have taken fewer than their three points on the road this term and if Palace are to build on their 12th-place finish from last season, their away form must improve.
