Journalist Beren Cross has heaped a lot of praise on Leeds United summer arrivals Marc Roca and Tyler Adams for their impacts thus far.
It was a rather hectic summer for Leeds and one of some upheaval as star duo Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips departed for bigger clubs for a combined total of just under £100m, and were in turn sufficiently replaced with the help of eight new arrivals.
Two of those, in particular, appear to have caught the eye of Cross, and that would be the central midfield duo of Adams and Roca, with the pair of them costing Leeds a combined total of just £25m – so the fact they appear to have hit the ground running will be huge.
Cross admits there was a hole in the Leeds squad when Phillips left, but has praised Roca and Adams for filling that void, as he tweeted: “Phillips’s departure felt like it might leave a hole Leeds may struggle to fill. His on-field ability and off-field city links made him a talisman. And yet, he’s barely been mentioned since the season started. Adams and Roca have been outstanding.”

It may have seemed a slightly bizarre signing when Leeds lured former Bayern Munich ace Roca to Elland Road, as the Spaniard only cost the club £10m and had started just six league games over his two-season stint in the Bundesliga.
However, the deal for Adams was certainly a lot more exciting and perhaps expected to happen given the number of players that arrived from Red Bull-affiliated clubs, which of course, is something Jesse Marsch has a huge connection to.
Given that Leeds currently find themselves occupying a spot inside the top half of the Premier League after six games having lost two star players in the off-season, it would suggest that the club have indeed got their scouting and transfer business spot on, so we agree with Cross’ comments.
