Journalist Graeme Bailey has been speaking on the Talking Transfers podcast about how several Nottingham Forest players could still leave the club.
It was a simply sensational transfer window for newly promoted Forest, who managed to sign an incredible 21 new players as Steve Cooper looks to keep his side in the Premier League, although last weekend’s result did show the size of the task ahead.
Forest surrendered a 2-0 lead at home to fellow new boys Bournemouth and ended up losing the game 3-2, potentially pointing to the idea that bringing in so many new players and asking them to gel quickly wasn’t the best idea.
And it appears that Evangelos Marinakis, who owns both Forest and Olympiacos, may look to recruit some fringe players for his Greek side.
Bailey said: “My understanding is they are looking at the possibility of sending a few more players out there, and that’s possible because the Greek window has got another few days to go.

“This week will be crucial for some of these Forest players because some of them could be heading to Athens for the season.”
TIF Thoughts on Forest’s current squad and transfer business…
It is quite a smart bit of business from Forest to send players out on loan for the rest of the season to a club like Olympiacos who can offer European football, and of course, play under the same owner.
Sending players out to Athens will be a rather easy way for Forest to trim down their Premier League squad, with youngsters or fringe players who aren’t yet ready for the top flight able to go and ply their trade further afield.
However, it does beg the question as to why Forest indeed did sign so many players if they didn’t have a clear plan to use all of them this season to help them remain in the division.
