Leeds United have been handed a big and unexpected injury boost with the return of Stuart Dallas to training at Thorp Arch.

This has been shared by the Whites correspondent Lee Sobot who has been speaking about the Northern Irishman’s comeback on the Inside Elland Road podcast.

Dallas was pictured on Thursday having made his return to training after missing the pre-season games following his fractured femur sustained back in April.

“It’s much too early to start talking about the prognosis and a timetable for Stuart, but any of you who know Stuart know his energy and his positivity and his personality is so amazing,” said Marsch on Thursday.

With the Whites going into the game on Saturday in high spirits having taken all three points from their game against Wolverhampton Wanderers, it was apparent Sobot was delighted by the injury update on Dallas:

“Nice update on Dallas, which people probably weren’t really expecting just sort of saying he was you know, moving about a bit on the pitch and doing bits and bobs.

“So obviously no one wants to put any pressure on him. And Jesse was asked as a follow-up question like you know, by Beren [Cross], you know, can you clarify that really because I don’t want to put any pressure on him. And he was very much sort of saying, yeah, you know, because obviously Dallas wants to do stuff at 100% and you know, got to take his time.”

TIF Thoughts on Sobot’s comments…

This will certainly be a boost for Jesse Marsch who currently only has one senior option at right-back in their new signing Rasmus Kristensen, with Cody Drameh on the bench on the weekend.

If fit, who would you start at right-back?

Luke Ayling is also unavailable as a result of his own injury issue having undergone surgery days before the final game of the 2021/22 campaign.

So to have another right-back working on his return will be a relief for Marsch given the long list of injuries sustained to the Yorkshire club last season.

However, reports suggest there has been no return date set on Dallas’ return with an expectation of potentially after the turn of the year, so a long wait still remains ahead of those at Leeds.
