According to Fabrizio Romano, Everton are looking at potentially involving Armando Broja and Conor Gallagher in a deal that would see Anthony Gordon leave the club before the transfer deadline.

The Toffees are desperate to hold onto Gordon before the end of the summer window, having already turned down a £45m offer and reportedly prepared to dismiss a £60m offer for the 21-year-old’s services.

However, it would appear that if potential suitors Chelsea are able to offer either or both of their young stars in Broja and Gallagher, who both shone on loan last season, they may be more likely to accept the deal.

This is according to insider Romano, who recently revealed this during an interview on the CBS YouTube show, Que Golazo.

Romano said: “Anthony Gordon is still a complicated deal. Still a complicated deal because Everton want more than £50m and add-ons. They want to include some players like Broja or Gallagher, but Chelsea don’t want to include these players in the deal. So at the moment, it’s still something not close to being completed.”

TIF Thoughts on Romano’s comments…

Everton have not started the 2022/23 Premier League season well, so not wanting to lose another star asset for now and the future is understandable. However, if they are to get two players like Broja and Gallagher plus a large fee in return, we think they would be crazy not to accept.

Gallagher impressed during his spell at Crystal Palace last season, picking up eight goals and five assists across all competitions while ranking in the 94th percentile for pressures, in the 92nd for non-penalty goals and in the 81st for shot-creating actions.

Broja also showed he has bags of potential last season at Southampton. He bagged nine goals in all competitions for the Saints while showing versatility with his defensive capabilities, ranking in the 85th percentile for aerials won, in the 83rd for blocks and in 81st for interceptions.

Judging by these numbers, we feel both players would be huge pickups for Everton, and while they are fearful of losing Gordon, the Chelsea duo would make up for this loss. They could also get a hefty fee included and would therefore make this a no-brainer as the club need money.

Would you swap Gordon fro Gallagher and Broja?
