Journalist Alasdair Gold has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur youngsters Dane Scarlett and Alfie Devine may not travel for the club’s pre-season tour.
Earlier this summer, the Spurs duo were part of the impressive England team that managed to win the Under-19 Euros thanks to a 3-1 victory over Israel in the final.
However, after achieving so much, they may be needing a little bit of a rest before the new season begins. Indeed, while speaking on his YouTube channel, Gold has revealed that why the club were initially expected to go on tour with the senior side to South Korea, things may might have changed.
The journalist explained: “Dane Scarlett and Alfie Devine. I initially was told that they were going on the pre-season tour to Korea.
“Now I’m told there’s a possibility – just a possibility – they might not go, purely to give them a bit of rest, because obviously, they’ve been away, if you haven’t seen, playing the European Under-19 Championships which they won with England.”
Will either Dane Scarlett or Alfie Devine play much for Spurs' first team next season?

TIF thoughts on Dane Scarlett, Alfie Devine and Spurs…
Scarlett played in four of the England’s five games at the past tournament – scoring twice and providing one assist. While Devine played in all five matches, claiming two assists and netting once himself.
With the two so heavily involved while on international duty this summer, it’s not hard to understand why the may well be wary of overworking the teenagers.
Even so, it may come as a disappointment to the players – and some fans even – if they aren’t able to show their quality amongst the senior stars out in South Korea.
As Gold does mention, though, there is only a ‘possibility’ they don’t travel, so Scarlett and Devine could be involved yet.
