Tottenham Hotspur are now receiving interest from a number of big European clubs for the services of Japhet Tanganga.

This is according to Sky Sports reporter Mark McAdam, who has been discussing the latest transfer news on an Instagram Q&A.

It is reported that Serie A champions Milan are one of the clubs looking at the possibility of bringing Tanganga in this summer, but it is believed they are only interested in a loan deal.

Tanganga is one of the players who did make the cut for their South Korea tour, with the likes of Harry Winks, Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso all left in London.

And with Bournemouth also credited with an interest, McAdam spoke about the chances of the Cherries landing the 23-year-old defender this summer, saying:

“Interest, yes. But a lot of big teams in Europe are keen on him. Doesn’t look like it will happen but the board are working hard and have pulled off miracles in the past.”

TIF Thoughts on McAdam’s comments…

We are interested to see how this situation pans out given Spurs are going to have to be cautious over their homegrown quota – which Tanganga adds to.

What should Spurs do with Tanganga?

However, it has been a difficult couple of seasons for the Englishman, who has seen numerous injury setbacks hold him back in making a bid for a regular spot in the starting XI.

And given Tottenham have added to their defence and are still looking to bring in Djed Spence at right wing-back, a move away on loan could be the best option for Tanganga to gain some regular first-team football.

But would Spurs be better off loaning Tanganga out for the season?

Well, Gary Neville spoke glowingly of the 23-year-old last season for his incredible performance against Manchester City, saying: “What that kid did out there today was really special from a one-on-one defending point of view.”
