Andy Goldstein has backed Tottenham Hotspur to challenge for the Premier League title next season following their transfer window so far.

With over a month left until Deadline Day arrives, Spurs have already secured five new arrivals. Richarlison, Fraser Forster, Ivan Perisic, Yves Bissouma, and, most recently, Clement Lenglet have all made the move to North London.

Following those five new arrivals, the TalkSport pundit, Goldstein, delivered a surprising verdict regarding Spurs’ Premier League title chances, saying: “I just wonder if Spurs will be knocking on the door, I think they will.

”I think, come the new year, let’s say February, I think Spurs will be within maybe five or six points of the leaders.”

With such a serial winner in charge in the form of Antonio Conte, too, it must be said, Spurs look strong. In the second half of last season, their front three looked particularly impressive, with Harry Kane ending on 27 goals in all competitions, Heung-min Son ending with the Golden Boot, and Dejan Kulusevski ending with five goal and eight assists.

With that in mind, and Richarlison added to the attack, Spurs arguably enter the season with an improved squad depth – depth which could see them cause some upsets.

TIF Thoughts on Tottenham Hotspur…

Spurs have certainly signed players who should add various improvements. However, attempting to match the consistency of Liverpool and Manchester City looks near-impossible for any side. These are two sides that have upped the standards in the Premier League.

In 2015/16, Leicester City famously won the Premier League title. They did so with just 81 points. For context, Liverpool achieved 92 points last season, and finished second. That’s the standard now; the standard that Spurs must be at if they want to compete for England’s biggest prize.

However, we think there will be a lot of encouragement taken by Spurs fans from Goldstein’s comments with a clear opinion from some of the media that Spurs have made improvements this season.
