Fabrizio Romano has revealed on his YouTube channel that Antonio Conte doesn’t trust Tottenham Hotspur ace Harry Winks.
The England international, who was called ‘perfect’ by Mauricio Pochettino, was afforded a decent number of games under Conte last season, featuring in 17 out of the 28 league games the Italian took charge of, however, his future looks destined to be away from Spurs.
Winks has not flown out to South Korea with the majority of the first team for Tottenham’s pre-season tour, which will likely point towards his summer departure, as Everton are said to be interested in the midfielder.
Romano has now claimed that Conte simply doesn’t trust the Tottenham academy graduate, which is why he’s been left at home.
Has Winks wasted his potential?
Yes!
No!
He said: “We know that Harry Winks is out of the South Korea tour because Antonio Conte doesn’t trust him, he’s on the market. Same for Ndombele, same for Lo Celso.”
TIF Thoughts on Winks’ Spurs future…
It’s been a pretty damning fall from grace for Winks, who only a few seasons ago was racking up at least 26 league appearances for Spurs and starting in a Champions League final against Liverpool. Although, he was named Man of the Match against Liverpool last season in a surprise outstanding display at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
However, he is not even seen as trusted to go on a pre-season tour and is seemingly only being linked with Everton, a club who flirted dangerously with relegation last season – and even then, some reports have claimed Frank Lampard doesn’t want the midfielder in his squad.
