Journalist Graeme Bailey has claimed that Emmanuel Dennis could be recruited by Nottingham Forest as they look to bring in up to 15 signings this summer.
Speaking after the Championship play-off triumph back in May, Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis said the club “belong” in the Premier League and that he would back his manager Steve Cooper this summer and by God has he delivered on his promise to this point.
The east Midlanders have brought in 11 players with Jesse Lingard being the latest in a statement signing for the club as he becomes the highest earner in the club’s history.
Dean Henderson and Wayne Hennessey have been recruited between the sticks with the defence reinforced by the arrivals of Moussa Niakhate and Neco Williams, Giulian Biancone, Omar Richards and Harry Toffolo at wing-back.
Brandon Aguilera has been brought in in midfield alongside Lingard and Lewis O’Brien who could make up for the loss of James Garner while a club-record £17.5m was spent on Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi but Bailey now claims he could be joined by his compatriot.
Speaking on the 90min Talking Transfers podcast when asked if Forest want to make any more signings he said:
(29:19)”I’ve been told up to 15 and that sounds odd but they’ve already got 11.
“I know that they want another striker. I think it might be like Emmanuel Dennis who can play up front next to his international colleague at Nigeria.”

The 24-year-old was thoroughly impressive in top flight last season reaching double figures despite playing for a club that only scored more times (34) than basement outfit Norwich (23) and that ability could prove invaluable for a club like Forest who although have recruited heavily will be expected to be languishing around the foot of the mire at the start of the campaign at least.
Furthermore, considering Sam Surridge is the only strike in the squad to have played in the Premier League albeit just six times, it certainly does seem wise to invest in someone like Dennis after 16 goal involvements in 35 appearances and this could be one to keep an eye on.
