Journalist Tim Thornton has claimed that Leeds United are actively looking to get a striker in the door at Elland Road this summer.
Leeds United have already made three new signings this summer, Brenden Aaronson, Rasmus Kristensen, and Marc Roca, and with Kalvin Phillips recently signing for Premier League champions Manchester City, Jesse Marsch could have a busy period before next season starts when recruiting more new talent.
Raphina looks like he is going to be leaving the club this summer, and with him being the Whites’ top scorer in the Premier League last season with 11 goals, Marsch will almost definitely be looking to strengthen the attacking area of the pitch.
Whilst speaking with GiveMeSport, Thornton claimed that Marsch will be looking to bring in another striker this summer, so that he can play two strikers, with one of them being Patrick Bamford.
“They’re definitely actively looking to get a striker in, and the plan is to play the striker alongside Patrick Bamford.
“So, Bielsa liked to play one up front, Jesse Marsch, in his system, will play two up top. So, they’ll look to get a striker,” Thornton said.

TIF Thoughts on Thornton’s comments…
Patrick Bamford was not able to feature heavily last season for Leeds, as he missed large chunks of games due to injury, so the Whites were without a recognised striker for the majority of the season, meaning Dan James had to fill it at times, who is naturally a winger.
Leeds struggled in front of goal last season, they had the second-worst goal-scoring record out of all the sides that remained in the Premier League, and this was largely down to the absence of Bamford, so Marsch will almost certainly look to get in a new striker before the start of the season, to make sure that this issue does not happen again next term.
