Journalist Dean Jones has claimed that dialogue has been open regarding the potential summer transfer to Leeds for Charles De Ketelaere.

There have been reports stating that Leeds United are keen on bringing Charles De Ketelaere to the Premier League this summer, especially with the increased rumours that their Brazilian winger Raphinha is looking like he is going to leave Elland Road.

De Ketelaere was in fine form for Club Brugge last season, he netted an impressive 14 times and chipped in with seven assists in 33 league games, and alongside Leeds, this has caught the eye of AC Milan, who are also interested in signing the 21-year-old.

With Leeds repeatedly being linked to De Ketelaere, Jones has claimed to GiveMeSport that he is starting to believe it the most at this current point after the dialogue has been opened.

“De Ketelaere I’ll be honest, I’m starting to believe in this one more than I was at any other point.

“I know that dialogue has been open here.

“I don’t think it’s a long way down the line, and I think it is also dependent on the Raphinha situation,” Jones said.

TIF Thoughts on Jones’s comments…

With Raphinha looking like he wants to force an exit away from Leeds, Jesse Marsch will need to act fast in an attempt to replace his top scorer from last season, and with De Ketelaere’s 21-goal involvements in the league alone last term, he could act as an adequate replacement for the Brazilian winger, especially with the Belgian being just 21-years-old.

It was recently announced that Kalvin Phillips has left Leeds to join Manchester City for £42 million-plus add-ons, so Marsch could use this money to invest in several areas of the squad, and potentially outbid the competitors when trying to sign De Ketelaere this summer.
