Journalist James Marshment has claimed that it is good news that Leeds United have not just rolled over and accepted the first bid for Raphinha.
There have been reports stating that Chelsea have emerged as the favourites to sign Raphinha from Leeds this summer, but Barcelona remain the club that the Brazilian wants to join, and they have supposedly matched the offer that Chelsea have made for him.
There have been ongoing talks of an exit from Leeds for Raphinha, but none of the suitors have matched the price tag that the Whites want for him, which has meant that Arsenal have pulled out of the process.
With Leeds standing strong on their price tag for Raphinha, Marshment spoke on the Just Joe Football Show YouTube channel and claimed that they have done the right thing by not accepting the first offer that has come their way.
“The good news is, from a Leeds United point of view, Victor Orta, Andrea Radrizzani and Angus Kinnear, they’ve stuck by their guns. They’ve said look we are not going to roll over for you, Barcelona, we are not going to just accept the first offer that comes our way,” Marshment said.

TIF Thoughts on Marshment’s comments…
Raphinha was the standout performer for Leeds United last term, after being the club’s top scorer in the Premier League with 11 goals, and there have been heavy rumours since the back end of last season stating that he is going to leave the club in search for a new challenge.
Although it might be difficult for Leeds fans to see their star man leave, if he wants to leave, and Leeds then receive a significant price for him, then they will be able to invest that money back into the squad. So, it is a good thing that the Leeds board are sticking to their price, to get as much money for him as possible.
